Hairspray: Promoting the Decomposition of O3

Watched the movie Hairspray, here are my thoughts.

Despite the fact that this movie has single handedly destroyed at least half of the ozone layer it had a great message. While this film would be officially considered a musical, I’d like to submit the genre “dancical” as equally appropriate. There was a severe amount of singing and of dancing, which reaffirm my maxim that life should be a musical—er—dancical. Life, however, will never be so bright; while I don’t hesitate to sing and dance at the smallest whim or provocation, I do not foresee ever having a trio of backup singers. Alas, I will survive, not because I can, but because I must. And who knows, perhaps one day, I’ll either be rich enough to buy a set of backup singers or smart enough to con my kids to do it. A man can dream.

  1. You need to watch more musicals/dancicals. Backup singers are not a requirement. Go ahead Mahon...SING DANCE!!!
